I serve women owned small businesses here at Madalyn Yates Creative. Together we create a strategic plan to bring heart & soul to your brand through storytelling photos & beyond.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me hanging out in my office, sipping on a latte at local coffee shops, baking something delicious & traveling the world.

I'M MADALYN!

This past weekend, I traveled down and over to Carolina Beach for a destination wedding ceremony! It was my first time at this beach and it was gorgeous!! Being a Florida girl growing up ten minutes from the beach I wasn’t a big fan, shocking I know! But now that I live in the city and going to the beach requires travel, I appreciated the sand & sun a little bit more!

Carolina Beach has so many fun things going on; a boardwalk, carnival rides, bright and beautiful homes, it was a great getaway!

As I mentioned above, the whole reason why I went to Carolina Beach was for a wedding ceremony! The ceremony took place right on the beach in the evening. It was beautiful, the colors meshed so well! I can’t wait to share those photographs with you soon!

This is the arch that Courtney & her dad built for the ceremony, so beautiful and lovely touch!

My favorite part of the weekend was Sunday! That morning, I woke up and had my morning coffee on the porch of my hotel, packed my bags and headed to Fort Fisher State Park! The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect and this city girl was in love!

After walking along the beach, collecting shells and soaking it all in, I took my car and boarded the Ferry to Southport! That was so exciting! Definitely a new experience and a little nervous racking at first but once my car was on, and we had set “sail” I just enjoyed the ride!

Why Southport? Well, my favorite Nicholas Sparks movie was filmed there; Safe Haven with Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel! I love picking out my favorite movies and trying to visit each site that scenes from the movie was filmed so this was a fun and relaxing way to start my day!

Well, I know this wasn’t a wedding blog share but I hope you enjoyed reading about my trip to Carolina Beach! I can’t wait to head back in a few weeks for another photography session!
