I serve women owned small businesses here at Madalyn Yates Creative. Together we create a strategic plan to bring heart & soul to your brand through storytelling photos & beyond.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me hanging out in my office, sipping on a latte at local coffee shops, baking something delicious & traveling the world.

I'M MADALYN!

Are you having a hard time staying focused? Whether that’s focused on your business or focused on your household, I want to encourage you & maybe even help you get out of that rut.

A few tips that have helped me in this season of quarantine:

  • Tip #1: Get outside! Whether you’re an athletic person or not, I have been making sure to get outside for at least 30 minutes a day! This allows me to set aside any tasks that I am working on (or struggling to work on!) and just get refreshed by taking a walk or a run! Whatever and however you want to spend 30 minutes outside, do it!

  • Tip #2: Refresh your space! If you’re anything like me, you’re working from home more than ever now and are missing the motions of getting ready (yes, I mean hair & make-up!) and heading out the door to go to your office or on-site for a job! Am I right? Well, recently after feeling uninspired and a lack of “girl boss” I decided to give my office a little but oh, so transformational refresh! With a few coats of paint, a few purchases & oodles of plants (hey, all you plant moms!) I feel more inspired & I am ready to conquer the endless to-do lists for the rest of 2020!

  • Tip #3: Don’t be afraid to fill YOUR cup! One of my favorite quotes is … “you can’t give if your cup of inspiration isn’t full.” – Isabel Lucas

    • As a creative & having a serve others mindset, I am always making sure my clients are feeling taken care of whether it’s hopping on a call to hash out details or sending tips & tricks on how to prepare for a branding experience; whatever it may be I am always striving to put my client first. BUT then I hit a roadblock, do you know what I am referring to? This is where we need to step back and really think about how we can fill OUR cup!

      • Here are some creative ideas (for those who feel inspired when they’re working):

        • if you’re a planner/photographer, plan a styled shoot that is a collaboration of things YOU want to photograph, trends you’d love to see in 2021 & beyond

        • if you’re a florist, design and create a table arrangement for your home! or create mini bouquets for friends that need a boost of inspiration

        • if you’re a web designer, maybe create a template for your dream client or create something with a favorite quote!

      • Here are some non-hands on ideas (for those that can completely turn off their girl boss switch)

        • Read a book; inspirational, non-fiction, fiction, anything – I recently read Untamed, Make Something Good Today & Atomic Habits

        • Binge listen a recent podcast! – I used to not be a huge podcast gal, but I’ve learned to enjoy Build Your Story Brand, Breakthrough Brand & Rise

        • Spend a day with friends & family! Go to the new coffee shop you’ve been wanting to try out or go hike that new trail you discovered, etc! You know you really want to try that PSL!!

        • Hang out where you feel inspired! For me that is outside or in the kitchen cooking or baking from Magnolia Cookbook! My favorite recipe from there right now is, the Brussel Sprouts with Crispy Bacon & Toasted Pecans

  • And lastly, Tip #4: Start brainstorming your refresh for 2021! I can’t believe it’s already September and 2021 is just around the corner but it’s also a wonderful time to plan & dream big for what’s to come for you! If you’re a small business owner (which most of you are!) I want to share a super fun & exciting little something I made with you in mind … The Branding Experience!

    • This is for you if …

      • you’re launching a new product or even a new side hustle & need creative content to announce it to your audience

      • you’re wanting to flip roles and experience what your client is investing in aka you’re ready to buy your own services

      • you’re wanting to bring more of you into your brand & have seen how amazing the experience has been for othersIf you can relate with any of this, I would love love love to hop on a coffee chat with you and start helping you plan your Branding Experience!
