For each feature on this new project of mine, I decided to pay a visit to each small business to do a mini brand session! Afterwards, I ask them a few questions about how God’s shown up in their journey! So, I am excited to share my time with Jenna + Jacey at their home sweet home.
Think back to when you first started. Describe a time when you had to rely on God to see it through.
When we first started our business my sister and I both quite our jobs and had to fully rely on the Lord for provision and guidance. We didn’t have any mentors in the business world, but through prayer and seeking God, we believe that He gave us the wisdom we needed, when we needed it. As we grew and began to look for brick & mortar locations to plant roots, we really had to trust in His timing AND in His “no”. There were so many times we desperately wanted a YES when we were looking for a location, and had to trust that when the door was shut, it was actually a gift from Him and that something better was coming.
How do you think faith can help you impact people through your business?
We are very intentional to create an atmosphere of joy. All of the fruit of the spirit should be evident in us as believers, but we also want to make sure that radiates into the atmosphere. It’s easy to let the hustle and hectic consume us, but we hold each other accountable to not let it consume the shop.
As a person, what are a few of your favorite ways of sharing your faith?
Jenna leads worship and is very gifted in that area. So, music is a very natural way for her to share her faith. Jacey loves to share her faith through blog post writing and also through music!
If you had to pick a verse that carries you through, what would it be and why?
Jenna: 1 Timothy 4:12 – because it shows us how to live as a believer – living your life as an example to other believers..walking the walk rather than just the talk.
Jacey: Galatians 6:9 / It serves as encouragement to be diligent in what you’re doing, even when you don’t see an immediate return or fruit of your labor. In due time it will come, as long as we’re doing it for the Lord and keeping our eyes on Him.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Your business? How is God
encouraging you forward?
We are very open to where the Lord leads in the next five years! However, we would like to continue to grow and potentially have more locations. We’d like to have a large space that would allow for more events, gathering, and having more market type goods.
