When thoughtful preparation meets intentional creativity, brand magic happens. That was exactly the case during my recent brand photoshoot with Grace, the founder and creative behind London Crafted Co. Let’s peek behind the brand shoot!
From the very beginning, Grace brought the same care and artistry she pours into her handmade jewelry to every part of our session planning. And it showed. This blog post is a look behind the scenes of our shoot day—from prep work and location choices to the final delivery—and how it all came together to elevate her brand visually.
Grace came to the shoot with a vision and a plan—and it made all the difference. She thoughtfully curated a variety of jewelry and outfit pairings that complemented her product line and her brand aesthetic. From timeless charm necklaces to dainty rings, every piece had its moment to shine.
But it wasn’t just the accessories that were styled to perfection. Grace also prepped snacks for our charm party setup, made sure the locations were beautifully staged, and thought through small but meaningful touches that brought authenticity to the day like gift bags for each model involved and myself! It was the sweetest touch! Her preparation allowed us to move with ease and intention, making the most of every setup and shot.
To go above and beyond, Grace reached out to another small business owner, Gardenia and Grace Boutique to share their beautiful dresses and blouses for the day! Hannah and Grace worked together to curate the perfect outfits for the jewelry that Grace wanted to feature!
We started our session in Grace’s light and airy dining room—the perfect setting for a cozy, inviting charm party. Think: friends gathered around a table, choosing meaningful pieces, and enjoying sweet moments together.
From there, we stepped onto the front porch for packaging photos and relaxed lifestyle content. The natural light and cozy textures helped bring out the heart and handmade feel of the London Crafted Co. experience.
To finish, we ventured to Downtown Davidson for a fresh, on-the-go vibe. With coffee in hand and a backdrop of charming storefronts, we captured Grace in her element: warm, approachable, and inspiring. These shots gave us a “girls’ day out” feel that beautifully rounded out the brand story.
After the shoot, I dove into editing with the brand’s soft, clean aesthetic in mind. Each image was carefully refined to keep the focus on the jewelry while enhancing the overall tone and feel of Grace’s brand.
Alongside the final gallery, I also included b-roll clips—behind-the-scenes snippets of product styling, setup moments, and authentic laughter between takes. These are perfect for reels, stories, and sharing the process with Grace’s audience in a way that feels both personal and professional.
What inspired you when planning the overall vibe and styling for your brand shoot?
I knew I wanted to showcase new products and our new branding. I wanted to capture a Charm Bar Party for customers to visualize what it would look like to host one. The goal was to show the London Crafted woman in everyday life, through motherhood and hanging out with friends.
Was there anything you were nervous about going in, and how did that shift as we worked together?
I was only really nervous about being able to articulate my vision to you and nervous about it coming together like I wanted. As we looked at locations, made a vision board and talked through how the day would look and what I wanted during the shoot, I knew it would come together perfectly!
Why do you think brand photography matters for a small handmade business like yours?
It really elevates a brand from a maker focused small business to a “brand” where customers can see themselves wearing the products. I was ready to take the next steps to really expand my business as a whole.
What advice would you give to another small business owner preparing for their first brand session?
Write down everything you want! You will forget all the ideas you have or want to capture the day of so having a list helps get those ideas out of your head so you can really be in the moment!
Working with London Crafted Co. was such a reminder of the power of prep, purpose, and passion. When a brand shows up ready to tell its story, magic follows.
Grace, thank you for trusting me to help bring your vision to life. I can’t wait to see how these photos continue to support your beautiful business journey.
xx,
Madalyn
