Last week I shared a peek into my recent trip to Nashville, Tennessee! It was such a wonderful trip. But now, I am going to share about the main reason why I was in Nashville …for the Born to Shine Conference hosted by Jodie & Ari. Jodie is a branding photographer in the Winston Salem area and Ari is a senior portrait photographer based in Charlotte! They both have a passion for educating and creating a safe space for like minded creatives which is what Born to Shine Conference was created from.

Jodie & Ari selected a handful of guest speakers to come a speak for the conference and each of the speakers had different talks and perspectives about being a business owner! We learned more how to build a brand that sells, how to get out of our comfort zones, workflows and vendor relationships, how to conquer fear, and even the not so fun topics of sales, finances and taxes! Even though those last three aren’t as exciting as the others, we still faked away with resources and plans for our 2020 goals!

On top of an amazing day of instruction, we had the chance to photograph FOUR styled shoots! Jodie lead a killer branding session with Amber Crudup, Ari lead a senior session with three of her Seniors Spokemodel Team, and then Hope Taylor lead a gorgeous wedding session & Patrick McAllister led a street photography sunrise session! Being behind the scenes on all of these shoots (and sneaking in a few of my own!) was a really cool experience! I got to capture other photographers capture what their eye is seeing and the art they are creating!
