To kick off the New Year, I want to change the format of my blog posts! Maybe, just maybe that will keep me consistent in keeping this up to date! You with me? Let’s start with a luxury artist brand, meet Tori Bilas!
Working with a luxury artist brand is always a treat. I feel like when you put an adjective as bold as luxury, it makes the whole experience different. Tori Bilas Studios is a Charlotte based fine art and stationery designer who specializes in custom pet portraits as well as wedding invitations and signage.
For Tori’s brand photography session, we wanted to focus on her as an artist. Most of her work is custom art which means that sometimes it can’t be used as marketing content. Tori had never invested in her brand with professional photography so working with her was such an honor. We decided to showcase her as an artist, as a dog mom, and as an overall human. It was absolutely beautiful.
Thankfully, Tori works from her home office so we were able to use it as our brand photography backdrop. It made it very convenient and easy to access any and all her work and tools!
When I arrived onsite, we accessed the space and decided how and where we wanted to start. We made the office space work for us by almost moving around everything. Well, except her desk. That was already in a well lit spot. It’s very important to have the light on our side during a session. We want the light to be facing the subject rather that the light being behind the subject. Enough, technicalities on to the fun stuff!
As you see from the photography above, Tori has a soft spot for equestrian art. The horse in the portrait above is actually Tori’s horse, such a sentimental touch to her brand session. If you have a horse or are involved in riding, you should look into having your horse turned into a piece of artwork.
Another perk of doing your brand session at your home is that you can involve your pets! This is Emmie, Tori’s sweet pup who loves sitting at her feet (and sometimes in her chair as a pillow!) We absolutely wanted to involve her because in addition to equestrian art, she does a fabulous job with painting pet portraits! I hope to get one of my dog in the future!
For 2025, I’d love to work with more people like Tori! She was an incredible client and now is a friend. I hope you love her photos as much as I do because I won’t ever stop sharing them! If you’re interested in booking your very own brand photography session, I’d love to start that conversation with you! Go ahead and fill out this form and I’ll be in touch!
