I serve women owned small businesses here at Madalyn Yates Creative. Together we create a strategic plan to bring heart & soul to your brand through storytelling photos & beyond.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me hanging out in my office, sipping on a latte at local coffee shops, baking something delicious & traveling the world.

I'M MADALYN!

I can’t say this enough. Investing in your business is so so essential as an entrepreneur! Whether you are five years into business or fresh off the boat, investing is one of the best moves for your business! This year has been an adventure for most of us, am I right? Well, I am here to share that choosing to attend The School of Styling A Creative Workshop was the best move for my business.

Let’s take a look back to March of 2020! I was continuing to focus on wedding photography and then the worldwide pandemic hit. I began to wonder how I could continue my passion while being able to financially stay afloat. With that, I began to switch my niche and fell in love with branding photography! Around the same time, The School of Styling launched an eight-week long Homeschool program which immediately caught my eye! This homeschool program was an accountability group yes but more importantly a community of like-minded creatives who were launching new businesses or pivoting in their business. Oh hey, that was me! I enrolled and was ready for all the guidance I could get while making the transition.

Fast forward eight weeks, The School of Styling launched their 2020 In-Person Workshop in New Orleans! My eye was immediately caught & I signed up for the workshop! What is The School of Styling you may ask? It is a 3-day creative workshop for community & design! Well, I am excited to share a recap of the best workshop for creatives, let’s dive in!

The workshop is hands down a game-changer. From the moment I arrived on Tuesday to the last goodbye on Thursday, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy & encouragement from all the incredible moments I experienced. Each day there were speakers and break-out sessions. I was able to learn & then immediately take what I learned and implement in my business.

A peek into the speakers,

Ashlyn Carter with Ashlyn Writes spoke about finding your onlyness factor so that you can market why you do what you do + how it is different from the rest.

Catherine Guidry with Catherine Guidry Photography spoke about making magic out of your mistakes as well as improving your brand through social media images!

Lauren Strain with Pollumination hosted a breakout session that included painting a ring dish! She taught us which paints work best and tips on how to design a beautiful memento!

Rhiannon Bosse with Rhiannon Bosse spoke to us about how to create the perfect flat lay! Flat lays are curated photos that include special memories from an event! Flat lays are ver common for wedding stationary specifically but honestly all the advice she shared could be for any type of flat lay!

Those are just a few to give you an idea of how incredible the week was!

On top of all the incredible education, the aesthetic was every girl’s dream. With pinks, yellows, greens & a whole lot of florals – I felt like I was in a Pinterest mood board for sure! Logan’s vision for her very first School of Styling workshop was beautiful & she definitely spoiled us with all the gifts each day! So much so, I want to share where these amazing gifts came from!

She is such a sweet person with a heart of gold, a special calling to create community and spaces for creatives to gather, mom, wife & friend. Back in March, Logan purchased TSOS from it’s original owner and she’s been learning the ebbs and flows of the business!
