I serve women owned small businesses here at Madalyn Yates Creative. Together we create a strategic plan to bring heart & soul to your brand through storytelling photos & beyond.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me hanging out in my office, sipping on a latte at local coffee shops, baking something delicious & traveling the world.

I'M MADALYN!

When I am working with a new branding client, I am often asked how to make the best out of the experience, you can read more about this, here! Of course, I guide them through and share my tips on how to do that but there is also the topic of what to avoid when you’re planning your branding experience.

Planning Your Branding Experience Finding a Location

Location

If you aren’t using your own office, finding a location that isn’t realistic to your brand or personality will make or break your experience because after all, you want to be authentic and genuine!

A question to ask yourself,” If my brand were a city, what city would it be?”

Photographer

Don’t make the mistake of booking with a photographer that doesn’t specialize in Branding Photography.

I know we all have our favorite photographers but unless you want to be the one doing all the planning & educating yourself on the importance of branding photography then you want to find a Branding Specific Photographer (oh, hello it’s me!)

The Actual Photographs

Focusing on Photos of You with Your Laptop – I just want to share, there is so much more to your brand than just you sitting behind your laptop, am I right? Now, I understand if most of your work is done on your computer or laptop, but by investing in a true brand photographer, together you should have the ability to dive deeper and create ways to tell your audience what you do without your screen! Let’s take intangible concepts & make them tangible!

Outfits

You want them to be true to who you are & that you naturally already love

Don’t go on a shopping spree just because you don’t think the clothes you have will work! I suggest having someone else look at your closet because a new set of eyes can make the world of difference!

If you’re interested in working alongside a Wardrobe Stylist when planning your branding experience, I highly recommend Katherine Bignon! She’s a dressmaker & stylist who loves to help you create a wardrobe that speaks to your ideal audiences.

Random Tips

Tan Lines! This is more common than you think especially if you’re planning your session for the Fall after lots of summer beach trips.

Paint your nails! The smallest detail but so important especially for the detailed photos of you with your products, or using your hands to speak, etc.

If you’re doing your own hair & make-up, you want to make it natural but glam. Similar to your outfits, you want to feel comfortable but you should look a little more presentable than your every day around the house look!

Are you ready to avoid these points & start planning your branding experience? I’d love to work with you!
